Dr. Cecelia Edwards:

A native of Dallas,Texas, Dr. Cecelia Edwards knew even as a child that she wanted to be  a veterinarian. However, the path by which she reached this goal spanned a number of years, other careers, and rearing a family. After graduating from high school, she entered the hotel industry as a concierge, which she continued to do for ten years. Then, after a series of positions in several other areas, she was even more certain that veterinary medicine was the vocation she wanted to pursue. Valuable experiences in these early areas enriched her professional skills. These include problem solving  and interpersonal communication that are quite beneficial in her practice today.

When Dr. Edwards began her undergraduate studies, she was still in Texas. She eventually decided to move to Ohio, where she would be closer to her husband's family in Upper Arlington and finish her degree at The Ohio State University.  She completed a B.S. in Animal Science at OSU in 2003 and went on to attend OSU College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2008.  Prior to relocating to Columbus she worked as a veterinary assistant in Dallas, Texas.  Locally she shared some experience with a large animal veterinarian and observed procedures in clinics at OSU in preparation for her career. Dr. Edwards also worked at Perimeter as a veterinary assistant before and during vet school.

Dr Edwards' professional interests include preventative care, client education and internal medicine. Other interests include gardening, movies, and family dinners. Currently she lives in Jerome Township with husband Jack, two Labrador Retriever brothers, Jake and Barnabas, and three cats, Mufasa, Marlee, and Maxey. Dr. Edwards' three sons, Jaty, Cole, and Zach, attend college in the Central Ohio area. Daughter Amanda lives in Texas with her husband, Stuart and two children, Elle and Cash. Studying veterinary medicine and bringing up her children were challenging for Dr Edwards, but now she's able to fully dedicate herself to the profession of her dreams.
